Product Description

Forede DN100 Ductile Iron Manual Non Rising Stem Gate Valve
Forede DN100 Ductile Iron Manual Non Rising Stem Gate Valve
forede® introduces the Z41X Flange End Rising Stem (OS&Y) Gate Valve, a state-of-the-art solution built for precise flow management and enhanced operational oversight in demanding piping environments.
The valve's signature OS&Y rising stem design provides unambiguous visual indication of its operational status, a vital feature for systems where accuracy and maintenance efficiency are top priorities. Fabricated with a 2CR13 Stainless Steel stem, it demonstrates superior resistance to corrosion and wear. Both the support and body utilize Ductile Iron QT450, ensuring robust durability to handle sustained high-pressure conditions and frequent usage. Its seal, made of Ductile Iron QT450 covered by NBR, ensures a tight, leak-free seal. The flange end meets ANSI150LB, JIS 10K, and BS 5404 standards, allowing for smooth integration into various piping systems, while the epoxy red or blue surface finishing offers long-lasting corrosion protection.

Available in sizes from 2 Inch (50 mm) to 16 Inch (400 mm), all models come with flange end connections, an OS&Y valve type, and a working pressure of 1.0/1.6 Mpa, with Red or Blue color options.

Suitable for municipal water supply, industrial fluid handling, and large-scale infrastructure projects, the Z41X Flange End Rising Stem Gate Valve is produced by forede® with rigorous quality controls. It is an excellent choice for those who value operational transparency, durability, and wide-ranging compatibility in flow control applications.

FAQ

1. Benefit of OS&Y Design

Q: What's the advantage of the "OS&Y (Outside Screw & Yoke)" design in this gate valve?
A: The OS&Y design lets you visually see the stem's movement, so you can tell if the valve is open or closed directly. It also makes maintenance easier, as you can check the gate and seal wear by observing the stem's position.

2. NBR Seal Media Compatibility

Q: What fluids should be avoided with the NBR-coated ductile iron seal?
A: NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) works well with water, oil, and general industrial fluids. But avoid strong acids, alkalis, ketones, or esters-these can degrade NBR, causing leaks. For such media, use a valve with FKM seals instead.

3. Installation Flow Direction

Q: Does this gate valve have a required flow direction during installation?
A: Gate valves are typically bi-directional (seal both ways). But it's recommended to install according to the "flow arrow" on the valve or the common fluid direction for even gate stress. Ensure the stem is vertical upward for easy operation and visibility.

4. Maintenance Frequency and Key Checks

Q: How often should this valve be maintained, and what parts need focus?
A: Maintain every 3-6 months. Focus on: lubricating the 2CR13 stainless steel stem (use grease), inspecting the NBR seal for cracks/wear, checking flange connections for leaks, and ensuring the handwheel turns smoothly.

5. Sizing for Piping

Q: How to choose the right valve size (e.g., 2 inch vs. 16 inch)?
A: Match the valve size to your pipe's nominal diameter (DN). For a DN50 pipe, choose Z41X-16Q-50 (2 inch); for DN400, choose Z41X-16Q-400 (16 inch). This ensures proper flow and no installation issues.

6. 2CR13 Stem Corrosion Resistance

Q: How does the 2CR13 stainless steel stem hold up in humid environments?
A: 2CR13 stainless steel resists rust well in most humid settings. For coastal or high-moisture areas, clean the stem regularly and apply a stainless-steel protectant to extend its life.

7. Handwheel Operation Torque

Q: Is the handwheel hard to turn, and does torque change with valve size?
A: The handwheel torque depends on the valve size-larger valves (e.g., 16 inch) require more force than smaller ones (e.g., 2 inch). But the design ensures smooth operation; if turning becomes stiff, check for stem corrosion or insufficient lubrication.

8. Epoxy Coating Durability Outdoors

Q: How long does the epoxy red/blue coating last in outdoor conditions?
A: In typical outdoor environments, the epoxy coating lasts 5-8 years. For harsh conditions (e.g., direct sunlight, heavy rain), inspect yearly for chipping. Touch up with matching epoxy paint if damage occurs.

9. Working Pressure Selection

Q: When to use 1.0MPa vs. 1.6MPa working pressure?
A: Choose 1.0MPa for systems with lower pressure demands, and 1.6MPa for higher-pressure applications. Ensure your system's pressure never exceeds the valve's working pressure to avoid damage.

10. Gate Valve vs. Globe Valve Use Cases

Q: When is this gate valve better than a globe valve?
A: Gate valves are ideal for full-open/full-close applications with minimal flow restriction (e.g., main water lines). Globe valves are better for throttling (controlling flow rate) but have higher pressure loss. Use this gate valve when you need bi-directional sealing and low flow resistance.
