FOREDE strainer serves as an inlet to a suction line for extinguishing water from an open body of water. Suction baskets with non-return valve and draining device prevent the liquid column from being torn off when the suction process is interrupted and allow the suction line to be filled up. The non-return valve is opened and the suction hose emptied by the rope-operated emptying device.
